Senior Accountant (Morocco - Casablanca)

Casablanca Finance Experienced (Individual Contributor)

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the Financial and Management Reporting of Sea Group legal entity in Morocco and act as the finance support to its activities in the Middle East and Africa territories outside of Morocco while ensuring that internal processes follow accounting standards and statutory requirements.

 

The ideal candidate will come with strong accounting knowledge and skills and demonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced and hands-on environment.

 

 

Job Description
  • Responsible for all finance and accounting matters (A/P, A/R, GL, FA)
  • Prepare, analyze, and report accurate monthly & quarterly financial and management reports
  • Support audit matters and preparation of local statutory financial reports
  • Ensure effective internal control procedures and adherence of accounting standards, group company policies and statutory requirements
  • Reconcile any discrepancies arising between the system and finance records, proactively seeking solution to identify and minimize the differences
  • Collaborate with HQ Finance to ensure local practices are in accordance with Group’s policies and local regulations
  • Provide support on local Morocco tax matters and tax efficiencies
  • Communicate with auditors, banks, foreign exchange office and other external parties
  • To develop and maintain a close business partnership with internal stakeholders
  • Support and involve in process improvement projects on an on-going basis
  • Other ad-hoc duties as assigned from time to time
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Finance or related fields
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience  preferably with audit experience in Big 4 or Information and Communications Technology industry
  • Experience in multinational or Casablanca Finance City (CFC) status company(s) that supports activities in the Middle East and Africa territories or will be an added advantage
  • Strong accounting knowledge
  • Familiar with US GAAP will be an advantage 
  • Knowledge of legal acts of Morocco, which regulate accounting, taxes, business accounting standards
  • Knowledge in ORACLE and Hyperion accounting software
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (fluent in French and English)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Well verse in overseas remittance process (Especially foreign exchange office approval process)
  • Good problem-solving skills and a high degree of agility
  • Ability to work independently and flexible with a good attitude
