[Garena] Game Designer
Job Description
- Gameplay & Systems Design: Design core gameplay mechanics, player interaction loops, and key gameplay systems for midcore and casual games.
- Progression Design: Develop player progression systems including leveling, unlocks, rewards, and upgrade structures.
- Game Economy & Balancing: Design and balance in-game economy systems such as currencies, rewards, upgrade costs, and drop rates.
- Feature Development: Create new gameplay features, game modes, and content to enhance player engagement.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineers and artists to implement and iterate on game features.
- Data-driven Optimization: Analyze game metrics (e.g., retention, session time, level completion) and improve gameplay systems accordingly.
Job Requirements
- Education Background: Bachelor’s degree relate to Multimedia, Computer Science, Graphic Design, Information Technology, Digital Arts, or Media and Communication.
- At least 2 year Experience in game development, with a focus on game prototyping, design and playtesting
- Familiarity with game development engines (e.g. Unity, Unreal Engine) and design tools
- Self-starter mindset: Ability to take ownership of tasks, proactively identify problems, and drive solutions without relying heavily on detailed instructions.
- Curiosity & fast learning ability: Demonstrates strong curiosity about different game genres, art styles, and production systems; able to quickly learn and adopt new tools or workflows. Shows a habit of continuous self-learning beyond assigned tasks.
- Demonstrates a proactive mindset in leveraging AI tools and automation to improve productivity and work quality
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional game development team.
- Fluent English communication skills.
