People Team Lead

Role Overview
The People Team Lead serves as a strategic partner and consultant to the Country Head and the management team, driving both the strategic and operational dimensions of HR.
This role is responsible for shaping people strategies that strengthen organisational effectiveness, elevate leadership capability, and enable Garena’s long-term growth in Thailand.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, while also overseeing the People Team’s execution across operations, talent, engagement, and culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Partnership & Advisory
- Serve as the right hand to the Country Head on all people-related matters, including organisation design, leadership development, and workforce planning.
- Act as a consultant to management, providing strategic insights, recommendations, and data-driven guidance to influence key business decisions.
- Partner closely with regional HR and Group People teams to localise and implement strategic people initiatives.
- Anticipate organisational needs and proactively develop people strategies that support business priorities and cultural evolution.
- Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the People Team to become a high-performing and consultative HR function.
- Build cross-functional collaboration and ensure alignment between recruitment, operations, engagement, and people analytics.
- Drive a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and accountability across the team.
- HR Operations Excellence
- Oversee all HR operations, including payroll, benefits, HRIS, compliance, and reporting.
- Strengthen governance by ensuring SOPs, processes, and documentation meet both local and regional standards.
- Champion digital transformation and AI adoption in HR processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
- Talent & Organisation Development
- Lead strategic workforce planning, succession planning, and capability-building initiatives.
- Oversee recruitment strategies to attract and retain top talent across business units.
- Partner with leadership on performance management, career development, and talent calibration.
- Identify and develop future leaders through coaching, mentoring, and tailored growth paths.
- Culture & Employee Experience
- Serve as a guardian of Garena’s culture and values, ensuring they are embedded in daily practices.
- Oversee engagement programmes, communications, and events that reinforce belonging and motivation.
- Act as an advocate for both leadership and employees, balancing business priorities with employee well-being and morale.
- People Analytics & Reporting
- Leverage data and insights to support decision-making on organisation design, retention, and engagement
- Provide regular dashboards and recommendations to the Country Head and management.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or business partner role.
- Proven experience as a strategic advisor to senior management.
- Strong knowledge of HR strategy, compensation structures, and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical mindset; comfortable using data to shape people strategies.
- Experience in tech, gaming, or fast-paced environments is preferred.
- Fluent in Thai and English.
- Passionate about gaming is a plus.
