Game Designer
Job Description
- Manage the full lifecycle of a feature: from initial ideation to playable prototype, through to testing and final decision-making.
- Design, prototype, and iterate on core gameplay systems and mechanics.
- Rapidly prototype game concepts to validate "fun," technical feasibility, and key learning hypotheses through hands-on development.
- Define and maintain the incubation prototype standard, ensuring every build features a refined "one action, one loop" core and a clear, functional FTUE.
- Work closely with product, programmers, and artist to ensure a unified vision throughout the sprint.
Job Requirements
- 3–5 years of professional game design experience, with a proven track record in the casual or mass-market sectors.
- Strong understanding of core loops, progression signals, balance, and player psychology.
- Proven experience in rapid prototyping and iterative development.
- Ability to independently take a concept from idea to playable prototype.
- Proficiency with at least one major game engine (Unity preferred), with enough technical depth to collaborate effectively with engineers on implementation and constraints.
- Comfortable operating in a high-velocity, ambiguous environment where project goals may shift rapidly based on playtest data and iteration results
- A strong "ownership" mindset with the ability to solve complex design problems under tight constraints.
- Good communication skills
