Game Developer (Contract)
Job Description
- Provide hands-on technical support to top UGC creators by assisting and coaching them to troubleshoot and debug projects, diagnose potential crashes and performance issues before they occur on the live server, and guide them towards working solutions.
- Help creators get the most out of the game editor and creator tools, including scripting, gameplay logic, physics, UI, asset pipelines, and publishing.
- Review creator projects and provide clear, actionable, and encouraging technical feedback.
- Act as the bridge between creators and the product and engineering teams by surfacing pain points, editor limitations, and feature requests with concrete, prioritised examples.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualise and design innovative games.
- Develop, test, and maintain games, ensuring they meet both technical and player experience standards.
- Provide regular updates to improve game features and functionality.
- Address and resolve bugs promptly to maintain game stability and quality.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 2 years of experience (including internships) with game engines such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar.
- Proven experience in game development, with a strong portfolio of published games.
- Strong understanding of game development concepts, including game mechanics, UI design, and game balancing.
- Experience with version control tools such as Git or SVN.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, C#, JavaScript, Lua or Python.
- Strong understanding of game mechanics, physics, 2D and 3D graphics, and user interface design.
- Experience with multiplayer game programming and implementing client/server architecture.
- Strong willingness to learn and grow in game design, with the goal of independently managing the full game development lifecycle.
- Experience developing games on UGC platforms such as Roblox, Mini World, or Blockman GO is a plus.
